Many Americans See Signs of the Apocalypse Extreme Weather


Washington - A third of Americans believe that the intensity of natural disasters recently associated with the apocalypse described in the New Testament, according to a poll released on Thursday.


Many people blame natural disasters caused by global warming, the survey added.


Looking for an explanation regarding flooding and heat or cold waves, 36 percent of those surveyed, and 66 percent of evangelical Christians, linking natural disasters to end the world, according to the poll conducted by the Public Religion Research Institute / Religion News Service.


But 63 percent of those surveyed blamed climate change, and 67 percent said that the U.S. government should make more efforts to resolve the issue.


About 15 percent of those surveyed believe that the world will end during their lifetime, and two percent said the apocalypse would happen on 21 December this year as the predictions of the Mayan calendar that many people believe.


A total of 1018 adults took part in the poll conducted between 5 and December 9 which has a margin of error (margin of error) is 3.2 percent.
