Strive China backs U.S. sanctions against North Korea
Washington - United States on Thursday said it was working hard with China to support him strong condemnation against North Korea, and denied that it was surprised by the rocket launch.
"We are working with six partners and the UN Security Council, China is in their categories, the response is clear and reliable for what the North Koreans," said State Department spokeswoman, Victoria Nuland.
Washington condemned the launch carried out on Wednesday, and urged the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, to focus on feeding people who tersiolasi, the poor countries are actually even developing missile technology.
But Washington warned that Pyongyang must confront the consequences of violating UN resolutions by firing a long-range rocket.
China joined the protest launch in emergency talks with the UN Security Council on Wednesday, but is unlikely to agree on the idea of imposing sanctions on the communist-run country.
Foreign ministry spokesman, Hong Lei, told reporters that China believes that the UN response "should be prudent, appropriate and conducive to the peace and stability of the Korean peninsula."
"We work hard with China and our other partners to make it clear that the international community highlighting the country's violation of international law," said Nuland.
But he declined to predict the outcome of the UN negotiations, and rejected the notion that Washington does not expect the launch, after some reports claimed that the rocket was dismantled.
"We worked for a few weeks, weeks and weeks. We warned against the launch and we are preparing a response if North Korea did it, "he told journalists.
He also gave a warning to North Korea regarding the measures next launch, as Pyongyang's state media said Kim ordered the re-launch of the satellite.
"He has a chance, as the new leader, to bring the country back into the 21st century, back to the integration with the region and the world. But he made the wrong choice at this time, "said Nuland.
