Brazil Inmates Train Cats to Help Breaking into Prison
A cat trained inmates to send mobile phones and other equipment to dig the tunnel caught in a prison in northeastern Brazil after sneaking a forbidden items tied around the animal's body.
"An agent saw the cat and watching it closely because there was something wrong about him," said Marcelo Avelino, head of the prison guards union, told the newspaper O Globo.
The agent found a bag attached to the animal's body is filled with saw blades and parts for drilling equipment and drilling the tunnel excavation, along with a complete mobile phone with its battery and charger, plus Avelino.
The cat is often seen out of jail Alagoas.
Prison officials Luiz de Oliveira Souza told the G1 news website that cats prisoners and relatives could often take him home after a visit prisoners.
"We were very surprised by the new tactics of the prisoners," who trains animals so that when you return to the prison and were able to bring a variety of equipment, the agency added.
