Lambert Vowing to Maintain Villa in the Premier League

Paul Lambert has vowed to keep Aston Villa in the Premier League club despite her care suffered three straight defeats and conceded 15 goals.

Villa suffered the latest setback on Saturday when they were beaten 3-0 at home by Wigan, defeat them slip to fourth from bottom, just one point above the relegation zone.

"I knew it would be a big job at Villa. This is a great football club with a great tradition," said Lambert.

"This club has been fighting for the last few years, I will speak with the chairman to explore how it will lead to some new players. But I have faith that Aston Villa will be fine."

With a last-minute equalizer against Southampton Stoke make Villa out of the relegation places on Saturday, and Lambert said: "Three recent results certainly hurt us."

"Everyone thought we were positive after win over Liverpool (3-1 in early December), but now all the negative thinking after we suffered three defeats."
