German Airport Security Officer Mass Strike

German airport security officers staged a strike on Monday as the dispute over the payment of wages, causing disturbances in several German airports.


About 1,000 security staff to continue strike at German airports, including Berlin and Frankfurt, the third busiest airport in Europe, said the giant trade union Verdi, although others continue to work shortly thereafter.


Still unclear about the impact of the strike in a period of delays and cancellations, as some flights were canceled due to heavy snowfall in parts of Germany.


The threat of a strike conducted by stagnant negotiations over wage agreements collective bargaining for 15,000 employees who work as security staff at the airport in Germany.


"We want to cooperate with our company for a constructive agreement," said Verdi spokesman told AFP.


"If it dilakukkan, the strike will not be necessary," the spokesman added.
