Samsung Find Practice "Inappropriate" in Chinese Companies



Seoul - Samsung Electronics said on Monday that an investigation against its suppliers in China found that there was no evidence of allegations of child labor, but found some working practices "inappropriate" that needs to be fixed.
South Korean tech giant is checked 105 partner companies in China in September after a report from China Labour Trustees stating that at least one supplier employing children under the age of 16.
US-based watchdog said that the staff in some companies were forced to work up to five times the legal limit of overtime and refuse workers' basic rights.

Samsung said it will complete a review of 144 additional suppliers by the end of this year.
Starting 2013, the working conditions in the 249 suppliers in China will be overseen by a third-party audit program, he added, who promised to end the contract with any party who employ children.
